When you think about words that become synonymous with each other, immediately things like chicken and avocado, cheese and wine and gin and tonic come to mind… but beer and YOGA? Believe it or not, it’s a “thing”.
The first Beer and Yoga classes began in the US in 2013 and have finally reached Adelaide. The Little Bang Brewing Company event “Little Bang and Big Yoga” on Sunday 26th May is set to prove that a marriage between the two is simply inevitable, especially for us beer loving Aussies.
For just $45, you get an hour of blissful yoga with St Morris-based company Roaming Zen, followed by a tasting paddle of Little Bang beers (or substitute drinks for those less beer-inclined). After feeding your soul and quenching your thirst, you are then treated to a sumptuous, gluten-free (with vegetarian and vegan options) tortilla lunch by iconic food truck, Tacocat. A very cool way to start your Sunday.

Beer yoga is pretty much something you’d expect from the guys at Little Bang, who love dishing up the quirky. Fil and Ryan started Little Bang as a couple of self-confessed computer game nerds, setting up the brewery in Fil’s garage as a bit of a hobby. When it became too big to be contained in the shed, they moved to a bigger premises at Stepney, then a second one, to accommodate their growing brewery and incorporate a cellar door. With more than 20 of their own and other boutique beers on tap, Little Bang is quietly becoming quite the destination.
Could beer and yoga be the new ying and yang? A little bit of good and then a little bit of naughty? A new philosophy in the making.
