Little Blessings Brewing is set to make its debut in the Southern Flinders Ranges, offering a unique experience in a historically significant setting. With a taproom and venue within the walls of a meticulously restored 1875 church, this brewery is set to serve craft beers and good vibes in South Australia’s North.
Located in Laura, Australia’s only Church Brewery invites visitors to enjoy the serenity of the nearly 150-year-old limestone building while enjoying a selection of craft beverages. The brewery’s founders, Craig and Cat Blesing, were drawn to the church’s charm and rich history, which inspired them to turn their dream into reality.
The soft opening of Little Blessings Brewing coincided with the Laura Fair this weekend, with an official opening with an operating kitchen slated for the end of April.
The brewery’s taproom will offer an array of craft beers, wines, and spirits, with a focus on innovation and dedication that has earned them several awards.
From rich stouts like a Dark Bastien (a creamy chocolate coffee vanilla stout), to crisp ales like the Ale Mary – you can even grab a Little Blessings Brewing logo stamped stubby cooler to keep your frothies cold.
In addition to its exceptional beverages, Little Blessings Brewing will provide a fusion of well-loved food trucks and a simple yet satisfying menu featuring tasty finger foods. The founders’ journey to realising their dream of opening a brewery in a church named “Little Blessings” is intertwined with the building’s rich history.
The Laura Baptist Church, constructed in 1875 by Johanna Ernestine and Heinrich Wilhelm Alexander Walter, has served as a spiritual haven for generations. The decision by members of the Laura Baptist Christian Community to sell the historic building in 2022 paved the way for Little Blessings Brewing to make its mark.
For Craig and Cat Blesing, the journey to opening Little Blessings Brewing has been a labor of love, documented through a restoration project spanning from August 2022 to March 2024. The restoration efforts have been supported by tradesmen, volunteers, and friends, culminating in the preservation of the church’s legacy.
When the doors officially open at the end of April, you can choose to bask in the sunshine on a picnic blanket in the beer garden or find your perfect spot at a shaded table, as you sip on our craft beverages and enjoy a laid-back afternoon with friends and loved ones.
