After six years of growing flowers, building community and turning a once-rubbish-strewn block into one of South Australia’s dreamiest floral destinations, Little Lyndoch Flower Farm is preparing for its biggest bloom yet.
Katie and Rob, the couple behind the much-loved farm, have revealed plans to expand and build Little Lyndoch Flower Farm 2.0, marking a huge new chapter for the business and the loyal community that has followed their journey from the very beginning.
The announcement was met with plenty of excitement over the weekend, with the pair sharing that the next stage is something they have dreamed about for a long time. While there are still details to finalise, the vision is a larger, much more immersive flower farm where visitors can experience the colour and calm that comes from immersing yourself among the blooms.

“Little Lyndoch Flower Farm 2.0 is really the next evolution of everything we’ve been slowly building over the past six years. This next chapter will allow us to grow on a much larger scale while also creating more intentional spaces for education, creativity and connection,” Katie and Rob said.
“For a long time, we’ve had big ideas sitting in notebooks while working within the limitations of our original property. This expansion gives us the opportunity to finally bring many of those ideas to life properly. The vision is to create a destination that feels immersive and inspiring, a space where people can experience the feeling we get to enjoy every day on the farm. We want to create meaningful experiences for our community through farm tours, workshops and a farm shop!”
For those who have followed the farm’s evolution, the next step feels like a natural continuation of what Little Lyndoch Flower Farm has already become. What began with a handful of dahlia tubers has grown into a multi-faceted floral business, complete with a dedicated studio, an education offering and Bloom Retreats, which have helped deepen the farm’s connection with flower lovers across South Australia and beyond.

But building that next chapter has also meant making one of their hardest business decisions to date.
The farm has confirmed it will not be sharing its much-anticipated dahlia tubers this year, with Katie and Rob choosing instead to hold onto every tuber they can to help establish the new farm. For many in their community, the annual tuber release has become a highlight of the season, offering the chance to take home a small piece of Little Lyndoch Flower Farm.
“Holding onto our stock was one of the hardest decisions we’ve made, but we’ve received so much support from our community. Our dahlia sale has become such a special part of what we offer each year, and we never take for granted how excited people get to share a small piece of our farm. But we also knew that if we truly wanted to build the next stage of the farm, we had to think long term. Keeping every single tuber means we can dramatically increase our planting stock and establish a much larger growing crop, which will create more flowers for our wholesale and florist community, and eventually more tubers to share with our community both locally and online.”

It’s a huge shift from the early days of the farm, when Katie and Rob were simply learning as they went, trying to follow their passion while figuring out what the business could become.
“When we first started, we were simply trying to figure out how to grow flowers while following our passion and building our business. We had no roadmap and absolutely no idea where any of this would lead. But over the years, we’ve built one of the most loyal and supportive communities, filled with people who have grown with us and cheered us on every step of the way. Bloom Retreats grew from people wanting to learn, and the educational side of the business developed because we genuinely love sharing what we’ve learned with others. Our business has evolved over time through trying new things, not being afraid to fail, learning through trial and error, and saying yes to opportunities that felt aligned with who we are.”

Now, as the farm prepares for its next stage, that feeling is set to become even more accessible, with plans for farm tours, workshops and a farm shop helping turn Little Lyndoch Flower Farm 2.0 into a true floral destination.
For Katie and Rob, the expansion is also deeply personal. The pair have built the farm together from the ground up, navigating the uncertainty, risk and hard seasons that come with growing a small business.
“We’ve gone through some very hard seasons together, taking lots of risks when there were no guarantees anything would work out. So moments like this feel incredibly rewarding because we know exactly how much has gone into getting here. We both bring very different strengths to the business, and I think that balance is a huge part of why we’ve been able to keep growing. The best part is that we now get to expand and bring our dream to life together.”
