Lloyd Brothers throw epic seafood feast at Fleurieu Food Festival this August

One of the highlights of the Fleurieu Food Festival each year is the Lloyd Brothers Long Lunch and this year it’s back as a seafood extravaganza.

SA’s much loved Fleurieu Food Festival is about to explode on to the scene, with a massive program of things to do.

One of the highlights of the festival each year is the Lloyd Brothers Long Lunch and this year it’s back as a seafood extravaganza.

Known for their exquisite wines, the winery is set to launch their new 2023 Picpoul’s, including their first McLaren Vale Picpoul and third vintage of Adelaide Hills Estate Picpoul. To complement the occasion, Lloyd Brothers has curated two special menus featuring delectable seafood offerings, making it a seafood lover’s dream come true.

First up is the Twilight Gourmet Festival on Friday 25th August. Priced at $40 per person, the ticket includes entry, a sumptuous meal, and the first pour of Lloyd Brothers Estate Wine. The evening will be filled with tunes spun by DJ Normie B, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

The menu is a celebration of locally sourced Fleurieu food, showcasing delicacies like Sashimi of SA kingfish with fennel and orange, Crumbed Coorong mullet tacos with iceberg and guacamole, and Sellicks Squid served with chips, salad, and tartare. If you’re not a seafood eater, never fear! They’ll also be slinging Ellis Butcher pulled pork sliders with jalapeño slaw.

On Sunday, the exclusive Seafood Long Lunch will take place in Lloyd Brothers’ enchanting Barrel Hall. Priced at $150 per person, the ticket includes entry, an exquisite four-course meal paired with matching wines, and live entertainment by Karen De Nardi and Mike Bevan.

The acclaimed local Fleurieu Chef, Todd Steele, has collaborated with Kangaroo Island Oysters, Goolwa Pippi Co, Sellick’s Squid, and Lilyarra cheese co to curate a seafood feast that promises to leave guests in awe. The menu boasts delightful treats such as Canape of Sellicks Squid and aioli, Sashimi of SA kingfish with fennel and orange, Goolwa pipi’s with little acre chorizo, tomato, risoni, and aioli, and K.I. King George whiting with celeriac remoulade, pancetta, and cress.

The meal will conclude with a delectable spread of Lilyara cheese co’s cheese, lavosh, quince, and sand road apples.

Lloyd Brothers is a fitting host for this seafood extravaganza, as their new Picpoul wines make the perfect accompaniment to the dishes.
