Family owned winery and olive grove, Lloyd Brothers, is dishing up a divine dining weekend throughout the June Long Weekend, from an Asado long lunch to an epic food and wine festival which promises to tickle and tantalise your tastebuds.
As one of McLaren Vale’s most well-known and respected destinations, we’re giving you a heads up on the fantastic events on offer so you can beat the queue and book ahead.
To kick the festivities off, on Saturday 11 June, Lloyd Brothers winemaker Gonzalo Sanchez is teaming up with Chef Steele to present the winery’s first long lunch, featuring a traditional Argentinian Asado barbeque.
Recently featured in the Sydney Morning Herald and the Melbourne Age, Argentinian-born Mr Gonzalo will be showing off his traditional Argentinian Asado skills. McLaren Vale Chef Todd Steele will be complementing Mr Gonzalo’s Asado skills, to not only showcase Gonzalo’s heritage but also showcase the very best of McLaren Vale’s regional produce.
Each course will be carefully and beautifully paired with Lloyd Brothers Estate wines. As you wash down your meal with a glass of red, you will also be able to enjoy live music by acoustic duo Karen De Nardi and Mike Bevan.
Continue the festivities on Sunday 12 June with the Lloyd Brothers Chilli Shack Food & Wine Festival. If you’re a spice lover, this would be a fabulous event for you.
In collaboration with Sprout Catering, Lloyd Brothers have prepared the perfect long weekend afternoon, filled with great wine, tunes and amazing food.
The McLaren Vale winery will be serving Chili Prawn, Chilli Pork, Chilli Eggplant, as well as Sprout’s Chicken and Chorizo Paella for those with milder palettes.
Vegan and gluten free options will be available, and Lloyd Brothers new release wines are all vegan friendly.
For $49 per person, tickets include a Chilli Shack dish or Sprout paella, Lloyd Brothers branded Riedel glass to keep, first glass of new release Lloyd Brothers wine and entertainment.
Kids and teenagers are also welcome to attend, with cheaper packages available. The kids entry pack is $20 and includes a toasted Sandwich, popcorn, a smiley face biscuit, a Mountain Fresh juice, fruit and a colouring pack. For $25, the teenagers entry pack includes a Chilli Shack meal and Mountain Fresh juice.
Black Cherry Events DJ Ali B and his percussion crew will be bringing the music and good times throughout the day.
