Lobster for $24.90, so shut up and take my money

You can now grab a Ferguson Australia Southern Rock Lobster half for $24.90 each, for the long weekend.

As the Lobster season kicks off, Ferguson Australia has launched a Southern Rock Lobster product guaranteed to tantalise the tastebuds of Australian home cooks and food lovers.

Ferguson Australia — a third generation seafood company based in South Australia – have released a pre-cut and cleaned 200g raw Southern Rock Lobster half taking all the work out of preparing a whole lobster and allowing endless ways to “make delicious happen at home” using the beautiful flavour of the Southern Rock Lobster.

One of the myriad ways to showcase the lobster is just to throw it on the BBQ with garlic and herb butter. Cooking instructions and recipe are on the packaging.

Ferguson Australia general manager Kate Birch said lobster is a versatile product and its time that Australians enjoyed this world famous lobster at home.

“Ferguson’s Lobster has been a rock star around the world, especially in Asia,” she said, but it is now more affordable than ever before and it is time that we enjoy our lobster and have the confidence to cook it at home. Let’s make delicious happen!”

Ferguson Australia are launching the raw lobster halves in Drake’s Supermarkets for the October long weekend at an introductory price of $24.90 each and an everyday price of $29.90 each thereafter. They will be in Foodlands, IGA’s and other independent stores by the end of October 2021.

Ferguson Australia is encouraging consumers to use social media to share their ideas about how they cook lobster. Ms Birch said people can tag Ferguson Australia and use the hashtags #fergusonaustralia and #makedelicioushappenathome in their posts.

There are several “Out of the Blue TV” mouth-watering lobster recipe ideas to be found at Ferguson Australia’s website — www.fergusonaustralia.com/recipes/ — including Steamed ginger & chilli Lobster, Lobster Thermidor, Grilled Lobster Half with garlic & herb butter, Lobster Linguini, Lobster Larb and Lobster Medallions.

SA Seafood Ambassador & Out of the Blue TV presenter Michael Angelakis, AM said that he loves “throwing a cray on the barbie”. “We have the best lobster in the world right here in South Australia and what better way to cook to it than on the BBQ?”

The company is also celebrating being a finalist in the South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards 2021 for Business Excellence and also the Consumer Award Top 20.
