Loc Bottle Store to host a wine party for gamay lovers

Get your drinking pants on, because there’s a Beaujolais party happening this Thursday at Loc Bottle Store.

Loc Bottle Store isn’t even officially open yet – the date for that is set as November 21 – but owner Olivia Moore is getting the good times started early, with a Beaujolais party happening this Thursday at her tiny Hindmarsh Square digs.

Beaujolais Nouveau day is celebrated on the third Thursday of November each year in France. The event, typically marked with fireworks, music and festivals, celebrates the year’s release of gamay from the Beaujolais region in France’s East, North of Lyon.

A light red wine, Beaujolais is meant to be drunk as young as possible. In France the day is famed for winemakers racing to get their wine on the market the quickest.

Although Moore won’t yet have received her Beaujolais allocation for 2020, she has “heaps of gamay” to mark the event. It’s all available by the glass and bottle, for people to enjoy alongside snacks and music.

Kicking off at 4pm, the outdoor event will take advantage of Thursday’s anticipated 28 degree weather.

Space is limited, email [email protected] to book a seat.
