LOC Mates is a one-weekend-only food and wine pop-up at the LOC’s new low-fi bar

Catch a sneak preview of soon-to-open LOC Bottle Bar this weekend, with guest appearances from Soi38 and Low & Slow BBQ.

If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll already know about Olivia Moore’s new venue, LOC Bottle Bar, which is due to open in Hindmarsh Square very soon.

Those looking for a sneak preview can find one this weekend (Friday 6 – Sunday 8 Nov), when Moore quietly opens her doors for the first time for a series of pop-ups in collaboration with other central city businesses.

She’s calling it LOC Mates, and it’s a one-weekend-only food and wine experience that intends to give curious punters a preview of what’s to come at this tiny low-fi wine bar.

On Friday from 4pm and Saturday from 2pm Moore will host local heavyweights Soi 38 and Low & Slow BBQ.

The first day will see Soi 38’s Terry Intarakhamhaeng showcase Thailand’s diverse culinary landscape through a range of Thai street snacks like chicken or vegan dumplings in green curry sauce, and skewers accompanied by spicy green papaya salad.

On Saturday wear something stretchy or sack-like in preparation for Low & Slow’s signature naughty BBQ. Rounding the weekend out – and it’s looking like it’ll be a hot one – is an oyster and Riesling Sunday sesh from 2pm ‘til late.

Moore will be there too, of course, slinging exciting minimal intervention wines from SA. She’s got a full line-up planned, with different pours for each day of the event. “Each day we’ll be pouring different wines by the glass… to give people an idea of what a summer at LOC will look like,” she says.

Tickets are $15 each from Eventbrite, and get you entry to one event, a glass of wine on arrival plus exclusive discounts for Moore’s online arm of the business, LOC Bottle Store, so you can continue the party at home.
