Local 19-year-old fashion entrepreneur and founder of Ryde Clothing, Nathan Woodrow, has launched a new range of tees called ‘Support Ya Local’. The initiative is dedicated to boosting support for local start-ups in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The idea transpired when Woodrow met with his business mentor, Business Development Manager for the Regional Development Board Murraylands and Riverland, Bruce Mellett, to ‘think outside of the square’ in terms of new products.
Born and raised in Renmark, South Australia, Woodrow launched Ryde Clothing from his bedroom when he was just 16 years-old in 2016 while recovering from a sporting-related injury. Having spent his childhood skating, wakeboarding, bike riding and surfing (just to name a few), the adventure-seeker became determined to share his passion for the outdoors as well as his love for his hometown.
In the years since, Ryde Clothing has become a successful, independent adventure and lifestyle brand that recognises and interacts with a range of local business’ and brands. Every tee or item of clothing is either hand-printed in Woodrow’s backyard or embroidered locally in the Riverland. Ryde Clothing also collaborates with like-minded creatives to capture media content and design T-shirts that reflect his passion for the Riverland and the outdoors.
As the brand continues to grow, so too does Woodrow’s vision and love for the community. So much so that the young entrepreneur now creates video content and delivers speeches at schools around Australia to share his story and encourage others to chase their dreams and visions.
