Local Waitress Named Finalist In Electrolux Appetite For Excellence Awards

This year sees local young waiter, Nikki Friedli of Africola named as a national finalist in the Electrolux Appetite for Excellence Awards.

This year sees local young waiter, Nikki Friedli of Africola named as a national finalist in the Electrolux Appetite for Excellence Awards.

Nikki will be directly competing against other waiters across Australia, including Jessica Thorley of Biota Dining (NSW) and Brooke Adey of Bentley Restaurant & Bar (NSW) to be crowned the Electrolux People’s Choice Young Waiter for 2015, as well as winning a once in a lifetime opportunity to catapult her culinary career.

Co-founded by Luke Mangan, EAFE is a hospitality awards program that Nicki Friedli 002supports young Australian chefs, waiters and restaurateurs, which has launched the careers of some of Australia’s best chefs including James Viles, Brendan Pratt and Massimo Mele to name a few.

To celebrate this year’s tenth year anniversary, Electrolux has introduced the Electrolux People’s Choice Award allowing everyone to vote for their favourite Young Chef and Young Waiter.

This year’s judging panel will be made up of Australia’s hospitality leaders including Adelaide’s very own Duncan Welgemoed of Africola and other high profiled chefs and restauranteurs such as Mark Best and Nick Hildebrandt.

Voting closes on 3rd August, with the winners announced at an awards ceremony on 10th August. Voters will also go into a draw to win dinner for two at one of the chefs or waiters restaurant.
