After an unfortunate setback due to a fire at their neighbour’s property forced them to close for a number of months, Brompton-based bar, Long Story Short, is back in a cheeky pop-up format! From Thursday 21st July, you can catch the team at Cafe Luna and The Stag Public House each week.
Serving up all the Storytellers gin you know and love, They’ll also be pouring three new cocktails inspired by the damages at their bar at Cafe Luna on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm and at The Stag Public House for their Sunday sessions every Sunday from midday.
A favourite amongst the team is the ‘Electric Heater’ which combines Gin, Lemon Verbena and (wait for it)…Milk.
“The electric heater is a cocktail that gives a little shock! It’s a modern milk-washed cocktail (it’s not at all milky!) inspired by the apparent cause of the fire next door,” explains Long Story Short Director, Lachie Gunner.
“It’s a morale booster to make light of the bad situation – something we can do because luckily no one was hurt.”
Further to this, Lachie says it was always their first action to keep the staff working during the repairs.
“It’s been a grateful experience seeing the industry reach out in one way or another. Thanks to the friends we’ve made since launching the company, we can continue to operate to some extent. We also hope to continue showcasing our Storytellers Gin and the cocktails we make with it at upcoming events and markets!”
The pop-up fun doesn’t stop there with a custom designed special pop-up menu that literally pops out for a 3-dimensional experience!
