Get excited, today is International Hobbit Day

Share a pint with your fellow Lord of the Rings fanatics for the coolest day of the year.

Today is International Hobbit Day!

Otherwise known as the birthdays of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins of the iconic Bag End (and slightly coinciding with the publication date of The Hobbit back in 1937), take this excuse to celebrate all things hobbit-like.

Personally, it’s a staple of my own calendar.

Seeing as we can’t all race off to New Zealand together to celebrate at Hobbiton in Matamata (they have since announced they’re moving their celebrations to next month due to COVID), us Lord of the Rings mega-fans suggest you take this time to re-watch the three-part saga (extended editions, of course), or re-read the iconic series as quick as you can.

Or, since dancing has finally returned to SA, perhaps you could recreate your own Bilbo Baggins’ birthday in your own backyard, with a plethora of food, drinks and music.

Perhaps you could dress up in a cape and bare feet and conduct your own Middle Earth adventure across Adelaide.

OR, you could just share a pint from SA-based Prancing Pony Brewery (get it) with your fellow Tolkien fanatics.
