An exclusive early preview screening of SPIT, the sequel to the 2003 Aussie crime-comedy hit Gettin’ Square, is set to take place on Monday, March 3rd. The night will feature a live Q&A session with acclaimed Australian actor David Wenham before the screening.
David Wenham is known for his roles as Faramir in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Harold Meachum in Marvel’s Iron Fist, Dilios in 300, and Hank Snow in Elvis. He reprises his role as Johnny ‘Spit’ Spitieri in the 2025 sequel to Gettin’ Square, bringing his iconic character back to the big screen.

Doors open at 5:45pm, with the Q&A commencing at 6:30pm, followed by the film at 6:50pm. All tickets include a complimentary glass of sparkling wine on arrival.
In SPIT, Johnny ‘Spit’ Spitieri returns to Australia after 20 years abroad, only to find himself locked up in an immigration detention centre. With old enemies on his trail and a target on his back, Spit navigates a series of comedic misadventures while teaching his fellow detainees about mateship and the Australian spirit.
Gettin’ Square became an Aussie cult classic after its release in 2003, known for its clever take on the crime-comedy genre. The film resonated with audiences for its portrayal of the Gold Coast’s criminal underworld, peppered with humour and memorable one-liners.
SPIT is directed by Jonathan Teplitzky, known for The Railway Man, Churchill, and its predecessor Gettin’ Square. Along with David Wenham, the film stars Helen Thomson, Gary Sweet, David Field, David Roberts, Arlo Green, and Sami Afuni.
