One of South Australia’s most exciting wine events is returning to the Barossa Valley for the fourth time this winter, and it’s a celebration of grenache that you won’t want to miss.
Lost in the FoG (that’s Festival of Grenache, for those in the know) is back in 2025, taking over the stunning Alkina Wine Estate in Greenock for two glorious days of Grenache-fuelled fun.
“We’ve been running this event every year since 2022, and it came about because we felt a real movement in terms of acceptance and excitement, around the quality of Grenache in South Australia,” shared Dan from the Alkina Wine team.
“Grenache is a hero grape here at Alkina, so getting to recognise that and a handful of other wineries from around the state and interstate, that use it, is so exciting.”

On June 28th and 29th, Alkina will be taken over by an epic wine experience. This isn’t just your regular wine tasting, there’ll be open fires, big marquee tents to protect you from the cold, soulful tunes, fire-cooked food, and a delicious glass of Grenache will never be far from reach. It’s moody, magical, and effortlessly stylish, just the way a Barossa winter should be.
Lost in the FoG is all about Grenache, arguably one of the grapes of the moment in Australia right now. This year, Alkina is bringing together over 25 of the country’s most exciting Grenache producers, with a different lineup on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday’s lineup will see local legends like Aphelion, John Duval, MMAD Vineyard, SC Pannell, Willunga 100 and more joining Alkina. Sunday rolls out another red carpet of talent with Adelina, Bekkers, Swinney, Langmeil, Yangarra, Seppeltsfield, and plenty of others. With so many options on offer, you’re sure to find something you’ll love.
“This year will be bigger than ever. We’ve mixed up some of the producers, so if you’ve been before, you’ll have a chance to try something new.”

Your ticket ($60 per day or $100 for the weekend) includes unlimited tastings from all participating producers, plus a serving of their famous Choripán cooked over an open fire. There’s also a vegetarian option, making sure no one goes hungry. Wine will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle on the day, with delivery options available so you can relive the festival from your own couch later on.

The event is designed to be as laid-back and luxe as the Barossa itself. With a walkabout-style tasting spread across Alkina’s picturesque garden and courtyard spaces.
“The Barossa is amazing in the winter. There are roaring fires, cosy cottages, and lovely red wines that warm the soul. Greenock is off the beaten track, but it’s a lovely little village. It’s so special at this time of year, definitely worth exploring,” says Dan.
Get your crew together, head to the Barossa, and indulge in some delicious Grenache this winter.
