The Lucky Dumpling Market is an annual festival favourite and program highlight of Adelaide Festival Centre’s OzAsia Festival.

Presented by the team behind Adelaide Fringe hub Gluttony, the Lucky Dumpling Market has returned to the Adelaide Riverbank precinct each Spring since and was one of South Australia’s first food festivals since the pandemic hit in 2020.

OzAsia Festival, Australia’s leading contemporary arts festival engaging with Asia, will present a program of ticketed events, after a short hiatus from physical events in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Event co-director, Daniel Michael says the team are really looking forward to the return of OzAsia Festival’s physical events, which were missed in 2020.

“Last year’s Lucky Dumpling Market was where we first established sensible COVID-safe measures at our events, and we were so encouraged by the support of our patrons for these new styles of public event design and practices,” he says.

“Since then, we have refined those COVID-safe practices at events like Summer Sounds Festival and Gluttony’s 2021 Fringe season.

“We know that patrons will be on board with keeping up those crucial COVID-safe measures like QR code check-ins and social distancing, to allow this event to go ahead safely.”

The market will open Tuesday to Friday from 4:30pm until late, and from midday over the weekend.

The Lucky Dumpling Market will run from October 21 – November 7 at Elder Park along the River Torrens. The market is closed Mondays.
