Hearts broke around the state — nay, around the country, the world — when Luigi Delicatessen announced they were closing up shop at their familiar Flinders Street location mid last year. Breakfasts without their awe-inspiring brekkie boards just haven’t been the same.
Sigh no more, Adelaide! Luigi Delicatessen is back, better than ever, and in a brand new location.
They announced their come back in a Facebook post last night and if that news hasn’t made your week, we’re not sure what will.
This highly anticipated reopening kicks off serving coffee, sweets and paninis for the time being, with full kitchen service and menu rolling out in March as the delicatessen gets back into the swing of things.
The dining experience that Adelaide knows and loves will be back, with plenty more space for those who want to have a long lunch or just duck in for Luigi’s famous coffee.
Phase 2 in March will also see the bar serving up tap beers, cocktails and more, adding a new element to Luigi’s, which previously only operated as a cafe.
Luigi says the new venue “finally allows me to do all the things I’ve dreamt of doing.
“The new chef is really good at inventing and creating. That’s why I’ve been chasing him for years. He likes to be different which suits me, and my business.
“There will be chargrill, food sharing, amazing options with seafood, vegan and vegetarian options, and antipasto taken to another level. Just wait until you see the platters!”
Why not swing by today and help celebrate the opening of the new space?
You can find the shiny new Luigi Delicatessen at 43 Franklin Street for all your coffee, brekkie, brunch, and lunch needs.
