Lukoumades closes the doors of its last store in SA

Lukoumades has announced the closure of their last store in South Australia located in Adelaide’s east, after seven years.

Lukoumades announced yesterday they will be closing their doors in Hyde Park, saying their final goodbyes on their Instagram. After closing their store in Henley Beach this January, Lukoumades was the go-to-spot for a sweet treat and a taste of Greece.

“It has been a great 7 years filled with highs and lows. However, we have made a difficult decision and have decided that our time has come to an end at Hyde Park,” the post to Instagram read.

Originally served plain and soaked in honey, the bite-sized, golden brown dough balls were reinvented by the Lukoumades team. Giving us traditional sweets and modern twists, Lukomades made sure that South Australian’s sugar cravings were satisfied every time. From Golden Gaytime, to Pistachio, and Snicker Greek donuts, the team provided Adelaide with an incredible experience, while also preserving and sharing culture.

“We want to that you all for your loyalty to Lukoumades over the last 7 years.

“We want to express our gratitude to you all for supporting us.”

Not only did Lukoumades give us delicious doughnut balls, but they were home to incredible loaded shakes and creative ice cream flavours. They also added a Greek twist to dessert fondue and had loaded donut fries, making our sweet dreams come to life.

Although they have closed their physical stores, the team are still riding around with their dessert truck to provide their incredible sweets at private or community events.

“The good news is we still have our dessert truck and hope to trade at as many events as possible, bringing you all our famous Greek sweets.”
