Lukoumades is opening its doors at Norwood

For those unfamiliar with Lukoumades, the business is named for the Greek donuts it champions, said to be one of the oldest pastries in history.

The news has broken.

Lukoumades is officially opening its doors on Norwood Parade, and your mouth should be watering already.

For those unfamiliar with Lukoumades, the business is named for the Greek donuts it champions, said to be one of the oldest pastries in history.

In fact, in Ancient Greece, the bite-sized, golden brown balls of dough were served to the winners of the Greek Olympics.

Lukoumades, the Adelaide-based business, has reinvented this historical dessert, mixing tradition with creativity.

Earlier this year, Lukoumades’ Seaview Road store was destroyed in a fire, and the business has since been operating a food truck in the same location to ensure beach-goers can purchase donuts.

Lukoumades currently has stores on King William Road, and in Hyde Park, with Norwood Parade soon to be added to the location menu.

The Norwood store will take the place of the Kensington Park Lukoumades, and whilst the opening date has not yet been announced, we have our fingers on the pulse.

Lukoumades is also set to launch a new Spring menu on September 4, so it seems everything is coming up Greek donuts for this local business.
