Boutique pilates studio Love Athletica is gearing up to open two of their luxurious studios in Adelaide.
Love Athletica Operations and Culture Manager Chelsea Matters, who will be the Adelaide area manager, says Love Athletica, nicknamed LA, has studios around Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs, and they are now stretching out to Adelaide.
The first studio will open on Magill Road, Norwood in November and the second will open on Goodwood Road in January. Both will be reformer and heated mat studios, offering 75 classes weekly for all levels of experience.
“Love Athletica is a whole new experience and I know will be so appreciated in Adelaide, all the people there are such feel-good people who will gravitate towards our brand and our philosophy,” Chelsea says.
Chelsea says the Love Athletica philosophy is built around ‘All the burn. All the feels.’ and making their classes the best part of our client’s day.
“You might think of pilates and being a bit cruisy and slow-paced- we want to turn that on its head and change the status quo of what pilates is known as. We are vibrant, fun, fast-paced, music filled, very luxe, the studios are gorgeous spaces,” she says.
“Our team are uplifting, fun, engaging, energetic and welcoming, we bring something a little bit different to the pilates space, but also the fitness space in general, so it is about the experience rather than just the workout.”
“Most people are exercising are either first thing in the morning or after work and it takes something pretty special to drag yourself out of bed at 5am when it is cold and dark, so you want to go to a space that makes you feel good about yourself that is a cut above the rest. Our workouts are both effective and fun and make you want to be there.”
The studios express a luxe California vibe with beautiful white and gold accents, splashes of colour with everything light, bright, open.
“We like to call them ‘urban oases,’ because it definitely doesn’t feel like you’re stepping into your traditional gym, it feels like you are stepping into this beautiful oasis,” Chelsea says.
When people walk into Love Athletica, Chelsea says they will feel instantly at ease, comfortable and welcome. All studios have a welcoming lounge so people can catch up for a cuppa before or after class.
Pilates is a type of mind-body exercise developed in the early 20th century by German physical trainer Joseph Pilates and Chelsea explains why it is such a great way to work out.
“It’s a full body workout, so you won’t need to go and do another workout that day, it will work all the muscle groups. It has elements of strength and cardio,” she says.
“We finish all our workouts with yoga-inspired flow to stretch muscles and offer a moment of mindfulness so you walk out relaxed. It is low intensity but high impact, perfect for all levels, it’s great for any type of person with any type of ability.”
Keep an eye out for opening specials across both studios on social media along with their year-round intro offer of 5 classes for $65.
