‘Mack The Transporter’ Joins The Clipsal 5000 Adelaide Parade

A parade starring  “Mack The Transporter” from the smash hit movie CARS and special motor cycles and cars that will be part of this year’s Clipsal 500 Adelaide motor sport carnival is set for the streets of Adelaide.

‘It’s going to be a little like what happened years ago when the circus came to town, and will alert people as to some of the new attractions we have at this year’s Clipsal 500 Adelaide’, South Australian Chief Executive Mark Warren said today.

Scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday 28 February, 2012), the 28 vehicle plus parade will depart the Clipsal 500 Adelaide circuit at 12.30pm via Wakefield Street and will travel along Pulteney Street, North Terrace, King William Street, through Victoria Square, Gouger Street, Morphett Street, Grote Street, and Wakefield Street to return to the circuit at approximately 1.05pm.

The highlight of the parade will be “Mack The Transporter” from the CARS movie but in addition stunning vehicles from the event’s “Route 66” and Armor All Show’n Shine Displays will be an integral part of the rolling road show.

Chopper and sled motor bikes, muscle cars including Chev Camaro, Pontiac TransAm, and Ford Mustang, and hot rods such as the Ford T Bucket, together with the “General Lee”, a Ford T-Bird, and a Corvette, will be joined by amazing show cars including a Torana, a Skyline, Ford XY GT, and a Chrysler Charger.

Official Ford and Holden Clipsal 500 Adelaide course vehicles will also participate.

At the event “Mack The Transporter” will be joined by “Lightning McQueen” from the CARS movie together with “Lightening McQueen’s” slot car racing tournament, “Mater’s Workshop”, “Doc Hudson’s” driver training track, Ornament Valley photography, and Radiator Springs merchandise at Lizzie’s Curio Shop.

Plenty of prizes will also be available for the top competitors in the ultimate CARS PS3 Race-O-Rama Championships.

The 2012 Clipsal 500 Adelaide will be held from 1-4 March.
