Maggie Beer’s Daughter May Have Produced The Best Chickens In Adelaide

We’ve found some gold medal worthy chickens, and we know exactly where you can buy them too.

Daughter of famed celebrity chef Maggie Beer, Saskia Beer is making waves in her own right.

Saskia has just received a gold medal for her Chickens in the Harvey Norman, Delicious Magazine 2019 Produce Awards in the Land Category.

After training as a chef and being disappointed with the lack of quality fresh produce, Saskia realised the potential market and began her company, Saskia Beer Farm Produce in 1997.

Absolutely delighted with the award, Saskia says, “to me this means we are producing chicken of the highest quality and flavour.”

The company is in close communication with each of its farmers and as a result they can control the flavour and texture of the produce by managing the diet, exercise, and age of the animals. They are even able to monitor how much sunlight the animals are receiving.

Saskia says, “we were up against some awesome competition – not just in poultry but across all produce from the Land. It is a testimony to our unique process which has been developed over the last 23 years.”

The chickens are fed a 100% vegetarian diet and given plenty of space to grow and mature.

Nominated for the award by celebrity chef Kylie Kwong, who has been a proud supporter of the business for 10 years.

After winning the award, Saskia thanked the farmers, Laucke Mills, and their wide list of customers including, Victor Churchill, The Boatshed, Peter Bouchier, Hudson Meats, Foodland Romeo’s and Chapley’s group.

You can find the chickens at the above locations and they will be proudly displaying their new award.
