Get ready to rekindle your inner magic, as ‘Spellbound’ returns to Adelaide with a bigger program than ever before across three days instead of one.
“Last year when we held the event we had over 2,000 people in over four hours, it was crazy. We realised how popular this event is, so this year we have made it over three days so there’s more opportunity for people to come and experience the wizarding magic,” Jade Moody, Event Director, says.
The event held at Port Adelaide’s Harts Mill will feature something for every witch, wizard and muggle including a magical market and Yule Ball Trivia Night.
In the magical markets you can discover a treasure trove of enchanting goods, from mesmerising crystals to peculiar herbs, have your fortune read by a wise oracle, or learn to make potions in a cocktail-making class by Threefold Distillery. There will also be food trucks and kids magical activities including cupcake decorating classes.
For the first-time ever there will also be an under the stars style Cinema night playing “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”. Tickets are exclusively online and are flying off the shelves like magic brooms. Starting at $10 for daily admission, or conjure up a 3-day pass for just $20.
“If you want to rep your house colours [at the various events], we say TEN POINTS TO GRYFFINDOR! Prizes await our best-dressed attendees. There’s no obligation to dress up, but you can still enjoy the magic without a costume,” Jade says.
The event will be family-fun by day and an adult playground on Friday and Saturday Nights, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
“This event caters to everyone, kids love Harry Potter but so do adults who have grown up with the franchise when they were younger. Last year we had lots of kids activities, but this year’s there’s also so many things for adults,” Jade says.
“My events are always themed, and I’ve always been a fan of Harry Potter and last year was such a success so we’ve rolled with it again.”
Magical companions such as friendly doggies on leads are welcome and the event is primarily wheelchair accessible.
