One of SA’s best restaurant to pop up at Australian Open

One of the state’s best restaurants, Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant will host an elevated dining experience for those who will be enjoying watching international superstars as they take the Australian Open.

Showcasing a contemporary Australian menu curated by Scott Huggins, Executive Chef at Penfolds Magill Estate each item on the four-course fine dining menu will be perfectly paired with a selection of renowned Penfolds wines. 

In 2022, the restaurant was named the 5th best in all of South Australia as a part of the annual delicious100 for their deliverance of a contemporary and comfortable fine dining experience.

From the $584 per person, the package includes: 

  • Four-course fine dining menu 
  • Starting time & duration: lunch 12.00 to 2.00pm or dinner 5.00 to 7.00pm 
  • Curated wine pairing  
  • Penfolds Grange moment 
  • Lower bowl Rod Laver Arena ticket 
  • Available during AO Weeks 1 & 2, day & night sessions until sold out 

Across the three weeks, a number of Australia’s best cuisine will be on display around the ground, all with menus that leave any customers begging to relive the experience all over again with their stunning range of ingredients.

The lineup includes Bar Atrium, the iconic Rockpool Bar and Grill, AO Stokehouse, Fushion Feast, VICTORIA by Farmer’s Daughters and Baseline.

Since 2020, the esteemed restaurant has graced the iconic grounds of Rod Laver Area, serving up signature dishes of Wagyu beef from the Mayura Station near Millicent.

Head chef, Scott Higgins is a world-renowned master of the kitchen with over 20 years in the industry which spans many corners of the globe.

The Melbourne-born chef has been working at Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant for over a decade, drawing on past experiences from his time in Japan, Spain and Singapore, to blend his own unique ideas into the menu for a truely undesirable dining experience.

In 2022, the restaurant was named the 5th best in all of South Australia as a part of the annual delicious100 for their deliverance of a contemporary and comfortable fine dining experience.

The restaurant was also awarded ‘worthy of an interstate trip’ as a part of the Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat Awards for 2023.
