Mainstreet SA And Adelaide City Council Introduces Retail Stream To 2015 Conference

Leading South Australian mainstreet advocacy group, Mainstreet SA, is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the upcoming Mainstreets: Windows to the World Conference 2015 being hosted and supported by Adelaide City Council.

Focussing on assisting traditional mainstreets meet future challenges caused by changing market dynamics, the Conference will begin with a Masterclass, hosted by UK expert, Martin Blackwell, on all things mainstreet, including the evening economy, management, marketing and business development and a walking tour of Hindley Street and the West End Precinct.

The Masterclass will be held on Thursday 16 April 2015 in the afternoon and evening, while the full day Conference will be held on Friday 17 April 2015.

The Conference comprises of a comprehensive program with three streams including placemaking, planning and a first for 2015, a retail stream.

The retail stream will focus on best practice including marketing, design, online v’s brick and mortar and a presentation from Dean and Melanie Flintoff, owners of successful Adelaide business, Australian Fashion Labels and retail shop BNKR.

BKNR was initially envisioned to be an online ‘store’ for Adelaide based fashion labels to move dead stock and deal with returns but has now grown to a flagship bricks and mortar store in Adelaide’s busiest retail mainstreet, Rundle Mall.

The three Conference keynote speakers have a wealth of experience with high streets in the UK and regional mainstreets in Australia and include;

• Martin Blackwell, (previously CEO of the Association of Town and City Management) based in London and now Chief Executive of the Charity Retail Association;

• Gordon Reid, (previous manager of Oxford City and Manchester) MD Carlogie Consulting Scotland;

• Tom O’Toole a highly successful retailer, motivator and presenter who founded the well known Beechworth Bakery in Victoria.

Early Bird registration for the Conference closes Friday 27 March 2015.

Mainstreet SA are also offering five registrations for the price of four to maximise the spread of delegates across all streams and sessions.
