BESIX Watpac marked the start of construction on the Eastwood Private Hospital with a groundbreaking ceremony. The $90 million development promises to transform healthcare services in the region, offering state-of-the-art facilities and enhancing patient care.
The six-story Eastwood Private Hospital boasts a range of cutting-edge features, including a six-theatre perioperative floor, a 51-bed ward, a multi-level car park, a café, retail spaces, and essential medical imaging and pathology services.
The hospital’s comprehensive design aims to provide patients with a broader array of healthcare options and significantly reduce waiting times for surgeries.
BESIX Watpac, an Australian-grown and globally backed construction company, has undertaken the responsibility of bringing this ambitious healthcare project to life. Their extensive experience, spanning 40 years, encompasses complex infrastructure projects in both Australia and New Zealand, demonstrating their capacity to handle such a vital healthcare facility.
Mark Baker, CEO of BESIX Watpac, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “our extensive expertise, collaborative approach and knowledge of the technical and services requirements of
health and sciences infrastructure will contribute significantly to the successful delivery of this project.”
“We are pleased to include Eastwood Private Hospital as one of the 11 major health infrastructure projects currently being undertaken by BESIX Watpac across Australia,” he said.
Eastwood Private Hospital is not the only prominent project in BESIX Watpac’s portfolio. The company is also working on strategically significant infrastructure for the Department of Defence and the GPO Hotel Marriott on King William Street.
In recent years, they successfully completed a substantial expansion and refurbishment of Adelaide Airport’s existing terminal, increasing its capacity to accommodate the projected passenger growth over the next decade.
The Eastwood Private Hospital project is not only about providing top-notch healthcare services but also about sustainability. The development is targeting a 4 Star Green Star rating, emphasising the hospital’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
