Overnight, Apple has introduced the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, succeeding the iPhone 14, with several notable changes and improvements.

One of the significant shifts is the introduction of the USB-C connector, replacing the lightning port that has been a staple in iPhones for many years. This change will bring faster data transfer speeds, up to 20 times quicker than its predecessor, facilitating more efficient workflows and higher quality video streaming experiences.

Moreover, this universal connector allows compatibility with a range of other devices, including Mac, iPad, and the updated AirPods Pro, simplifying the charging and data transfer process.

Structurally, the new models feature a titanium frame, known for its lightweight yet durable properties. The design includes contoured edges and a customizable Action button, which aims to enhance user personalization by offering a range of quick-access functions.

These models are available in four finishes: black titanium, white titanium, blue titanium, and natural titanium.

The camera system in these new models has undergone substantial upgrades, now housing the equivalent of seven professional lenses to enhance image quality and offer greater creative control.

The main camera system supports a 24MP default setting, with options to switch between various focal lengths, promising more flexibility in photography. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max houses a 5x Telephoto camera, a feature expected to appeal to photography enthusiasts.

On the performance front, the A17 Pro chip powers these models, promising improvements in gaming experiences and overall device performance. This chip is noted for its faster processing speeds, potentially enhancing the user experience in gaming and other high-demand applications.

The iPhone 15 series also introduces new charging capabilities, with the USB-C connector facilitating the charging of other devices, such as the AirPods or Apple Watch, directly from the iPhone. Furthermore, the new models support USB 3 for data transfer, promising speeds up to 10 gigabits per second, a significant increase from previous versions.

These new models are set to be available for pre-order from September 15, with general availability beginning on September 22. The pricing starts at A$1,849 for the iPhone 15 Pro and A$2,199 for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, varying based on the chosen storage capacity.
