Make Your Own Signature Scent In This Incredible Perfume Workshop

Grab your girlfriends, make like Beyonce and create your own perfume sans nasty chemicals.

There are so many perfumes on the market these days that it can be a little overwhelming. Perhaps you have your go-to, one that you found after lengthy contemplation, or one that you purchased on a whim (“yeah, that smells good, I’ll go with that”), or even just a few underlying scents that you gravitate towards. Any way you spin it, finding the right fragrance is a very personal choice.

Have you ever just wished that you could snap your fingers and have that perfect fragrance sitting on your bathroom counter? Because hey … if Beyonce can make a line of fragrance, why can’t you?

Pfft… what are we saying. You can literally do this in Adelaide.

One Seed offer intimate hands-on perfume workshops that cover the basics and principles of perfumery and blending. You’ll get to mix and blend your favourite smells together to create an incredible fragrance that’s completely unique to you and take home your blend, as well as the ingredients to create more bottles of your new fragrance at home.

Topics include:

  • natural vs. synthetic scent
  • perfume classification
  • how to smell
  • dry down studies
  • creation methods

The organic perfumery is passionate about creating completely natural products without compromising on beauty or quality, while still making them accessible. Every product is designed, formulated and crafted in South Australia: beautiful fragrances, colognes, and body products, using wholly natural (and at least 80% organic) ingredients, that are vegan and cruelty-free.

One Seed organic perfumery hopes to educate customers on the benefits of selecting a natural fragrance, and they should know – with over eight years experience in creating beautiful natural perfumes, using wholly natural (and at least 80% organic) ingredients.

One Seed Founder, and natural beauty expert, Liz Cook says most buyers still don’t consider what ingredients make up perfume, and Australia’s lax legislation surrounding labelling and product testing of synthetic perfumes are of no help at all.

“Chemicals like phthalates and BPA (Bisphenol-A) and toxic ingredients, including powerful endocrine disruptors, exist in almost all perfumes. And we are spraying them all over our bodies and inhaling them,” warns Liz. “We don’t know the long-term effects of some of these ingredients … and we are often unaware of the way toxic ingredients can bioaccumulate in the body.”

But you won’t see a comprehensive list of these ingredients on most perfume bottles, with labelling loopholes meaning anything deemed a ‘trade secret’ is allowed to be left off any product information.

Liz Cook says One Seed will fully disclose every ingredient included in their natural perfumes, in an effort to stop the culture of secrecy in the fragrance industry.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your girlfriends, make like Beyonce and get that one-of-a-kind scent that makes all your colleagues ask, “what are you wearing?” Sorry, ladies, but this one isn’t on the shelves.
