Prepare to be transported back in time to the era of disco balls and flare pants, with the ABBA Gold: Waterloo 50th Anniversary Show by Adelaide Fringe and Regal Theatre favourites, The Flaming Sambucas.
This highly acclaimed show, celebrated for its nostalgia and joyous rendition of ABBA’s greatest hits, is set to light up the stage on Saturday, 16 March 2024, at the Regal Theatre.
The Flaming Sambucas, Adelaide’s renowned tribute band, brings to life the magic of ABBA’s music, marking the 50th anniversary of the iconic band’s breakthrough victory in the Eurovision Song Contest with “Waterloo,” and commemorating their historic 1977 Australian tour.
Audiences can expect an immersive experience as the band performs in authentic costumes, reviving classics like “Super Trouper,” “Ring Ring,” “The Winner Takes It All,” “SOS,” “Thank You For The Music,” “Dancing Queen,” “Voulez Vous,” and many more. The show is a journey through ABBA’s history, narrated in a unique, storytelling format that promises to engage, uplift, and stir emotions.
The Flaming Sambucas, featuring founder member Terry Nicholas on keyboards and vocals, have been a staple in the Australian music scene since their formation in 1991. Known for their energetic performances and musical versatility, they have become one of the nation’s premiere corporate party bands, captivating audiences at numerous conferences, events, and award nights both nationally and internationally.
