The latest of fruits to be utilised in a little drink we quite love has been revealed by an SA distillery. We are of course talking about gin and…. mandarins.
It’s the end of mandarin season so the award-winning Ambleside Distillers have launched their newest limited release blend, Mandarin Gin.
“We love using locally sourced produce so creating this extremely limited release gin was too good of an opportunity to pass up,” says Ambleside Founder and Distiller, Matt Dickson.
Using beautiful mandarins from SA orchards, the 40% alcohol gin has been distilled with Ambleside’s favourite botanical juniper and carefully balanced with elderberries, kumquat, vanilla, cacao, atherton nut and almond for a well-rounded palate.
Cassia, cinnamon, and liquorice root add a subtle undertone of spice while the post distillation steeped mandarin peel give this Gin a fresh, zesty aroma – a perfect base for delicious summer cocktails.
Located in Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, Ambleside Distillers was built from the garden up.
Founded by a family passionate about sourcing local since day one, from their Australian made Copper Still to the botanicals grown in the distillery garden. Ambleside Distillers recently won big in the 2020 Tasting Australia Spirit Awards.
