Mannum’s New Boat Ramp Set To Supercharge Your Summer

Up until now if you’ve wanted to get amongst the river culture, you’ve had to sweet talk your mates with a boat ramp…

Some of the best memories of our life have been at the river, whether you’re someone who gets out on the boat, fishes, water skis or sits on the river bank sipping a chardy, the Riverland holds a dear spot in all our South Aussie hearts.

Up until now, you’ve generally had to know somebody with a boat ramp to get involved in the river culture. But thanks to the guys at Mannum Waters, the river lifestyle more is about to become more accessible for people with the installation of a huge public boat ramp.

Stage 1 of the boat ramp constructions have already begun at Mannum Waters Marina with the concrete ramp infrastructure placed. The ramp is 10 metres wide and when fully completed will comprise dual lane launching, floating pontoon, car and trailer parking. Adjacent boat refuelling will also be available in the near future once equipment is installed with. It is planned that both unleaded and diesel bulk fuels will be available.

Mannum Waters Project Manager David Potter said “he was very happy to have this integral component of the marina works installed and shortly ready for public use”.

The population of the town and surrounds swells from 2,000 residents to over 10,000 semi-residents over the summer months. It’s also home to Unforgettable Houseboats, Australia’s most accredited and prestigious houseboat fleet (if you’re looking for a fun way to spend a week or two this summer!).

Mannum Waters is also South Australia’s newest River Murray waterfront housing development and largest residential houseboat marina in the state. When complete, the 20-year project, will feature more than 160 waterfront dwellings, over 150 houseboat marina berths, tourist accommodation, commercial precinct, an eco camp, leisure facilities and extensive wetlands.
