Get ready to make a splash at the Marion Outdoor Pool with its doors for the highly anticipated 2024/25 season now open. Following record-breaking attendance last year, the pool is gearing up for another exciting 30-week season.
Mayor Kris Hanna says he is thrilled about what’s to come.
“The Marion Outdoor Pool continues to be a favourite destination for residents and visitors,” Mayor Hanna said.
“With a longer season and a variety of activities on offer, we’re expecting another successful year.”
What can you look forward to this season? The standout features of the Marion Outdoor Pool include a fantastic 50-metre lap pool that caters to swimmers of all levels, and a recreation pool perfect for casual swims and family fun.
Thrill-seekers can take the plunge down the exhilarating speed slide with a 10-metre drop, reaching speeds of up to 31 km/h, or twist and turn down the vibrant 70-metre slide, complete with colourful lighting.
Families will also love the shaded learner and toddler pools, as well as the splash park, which are ideal for young children to enjoy. This year, the excitement doesn’t stop there, with new programs to be introduced, including dry land fitness and yoga classes held on the lawn, along with sensory sessions designed specifically for children.
And if that’s not enough to keep you entertained, the pool will host three movie nights in December, January, and April, adding even more fun to your summer evenings.
South Aussie Olympian Kyle Chalmers had his humble beginning at the local pool.
Mayor Hanna reminisces, previously calling “Kyle is a local legend at the Pool”.
“He is one of the few people that Marion Council has honoured with the key to the city. He’s an inspiration to hundreds of our local swimmers,” he added.
