Marion Pool’s $4.5m Waterpark Transformation

The pool will feature a 9m-high tower with four slides and a tipping bucket, a 59sqm play area for the little kids, and more.

Get ready to make a splash as one of Adelaide’s most popular public pools is nearing the final stage of its major revamp.

The Marion outdoor pool has been undergoing a much-needed facelift, which will be done just in time for you and the kids to enjoy some quality time in the pool this Summer.

The 4.5million redevelopment will see the Marion Outdoor Pool transformed into a fully-fledged outdoor waterpark featuring a 9m-high tower with four slides and a tipping bucket, a 59sqm play area for the little kids with a non-slip surface, and water jets.

Expanding the park by 1800sqm, the redevelopment will also make room for a new family area and barbecues for parents to enjoy whilst their kids are out having some fun in the sun.

New paths will also be installed at the Oaklands Road pool to improve access for those with disabilities.

The project will complete the transformation of the 44-year-old pool which kicked off back in 2017 when two water slides were installed at the park.

The project was announced by the City of Marion Council late last month with the council funding 4.35million towards the project and the State Government pledging a further $150,000.

The pool will still continue to hold lap swimming, aqua aerobics, swim school, open day, swimming tuition, carnivals, events, and VACSWIM upon completion with even better facilities.

So, get ready to hop into your swimmers and pop on some sunblock when the Marion Pool’s all-new outdoor aquatic adventure opens this October.

You can find the Marion Outdoor Pool on the corner of Oaklands Road and Hendrie Street, Park Holme.
