Market Minis makes a return to Adelaide Central Markets

Calling all junior food lovers! Adelaide Central Markets Market Minis is back this year with a new time and program. This free program is designed to help little market-goers learn about the food they eat, using fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables to teach mini master chefs how to create a simple dish.

The Market program aims to help South Australian school children feel empowered with their food choices while paving the way for a healthy lifestyle later in school.

Suitable for children between the ages of two and five, the program will run for the entirety of Term 4. The fun kicks off at 9:30am each Tuesday, with the rotating program exploring new flavours and senses each week.

Market Minis has been created as a drop-in format of lessons, with each session running for approximately 20 minutes before wrapping up at 11:30am. You can drop your little market goer off to get some shopping done close by, or enjoy a relaxing coffee, knowing they’re in good hands.

Adelaide’s littlest foodies will be able to learn about all things sweet, savoury, crunchy and veggie throughout the nine-week program in a fun and engaging manner, helping kids grow and glow with healthy food.

The Term 4 program are also introducing a new concept of soft play, where the culinary session will create a space for Adelaide’s youngest, inquisitive minds.

The program will be delivered in collaboration with Sprout Cooking School, headed by Masterchef alumni Callum Han, the brains behind Adelaide’s latest food destination Eleven. Sprout endeavours to teach South Australians health cooking in a hands-on manner, teaching Adelaidians how to cook nutritious yet delicious meals themselves, while fostering an understanding of the relationship between good food and our health.

Market Minis will be delivered in a fun and engaging way by the knowledgable and experienced team from Sprout: a hands on, healthy cooking school focused on educating people on how to enjoy fresh, healthy and seasonal food everyday.

The dietician-designed programme is a great way for young foodies to learn how to make great nutritional choices as they made their way into their school years.

The Adelaide Central Market and Sprout will be following advice from SA Health regarding COVID-19 and taking measures to sanitise all surfaces between sessions, ensuring appropriate distancing between participants.
