Get ready for four jam-packed days of fun, flavour, and fabulous finds — the Meadows 4-Day Easter Fair is lighting up the Adelaide Hills agin this April. This beloved event transforms the charming village of Meadows into a buzzing hub of fashion, arts and crafts, fresh produce, plants, gourmet eats, local sips, and live entertainment.
Since 1997, this iconic (and completely free!) celebration has drawn tens of thousands of eager Easter long weekenders. This year, it’s bigger and better than ever, with over 150 vibrant market stalls sprawling around the Meadows Memorial Hall and spilling into the picturesque Battunga Park.
Henry, who’s been organising the event for the last few years, says the Meadows Fair is an important occasion for the Adelaide Hills community.
“It’s always a tradition for families to come up and enjoy the day. We’ve got a great range of stallholders, music, and fun for the whole family,” said Henry.
“With over 150 stallholders, it’s not just the usual craft and handmade goods. We also have people selling sauces, takeaway food, and much more. There’s something for all ages.”
Along with the incredible selection of market stalls, there’s also a bunch of exciting activities for all ages, like the petting zoo, kids zone, a Lego workshop, a travelling farm, Paint’N’Play, laser tag, plus medieval combat and demonstrations.
Henry appreciates the Fair’s ‘rich history’. He says the Fair has experienced gradual, progressive growth in its near 30-year history, now one of the region’s most popular holiday events.
In 2013, the Meadows Easter Fair was awarded the “Community Event of 2012” at the Australia Day Awards. Five years later, the Fair celebrated 20 years since it became a 4-day event and broke its attendance record by attracting over 40,000 visitors.
“Each year, we try and add something different and new for people to enjoy,” said Henry.
“I always enjoy seeing people happy, having a day out, families making memories. It makes it all worth it.”
