Last weekend of the final weekend of Adelaide’s premier eating and drinking festival, Tasting Australia. Presented by RAA Travel, Adelaideans discovered all that our great state had to offer when it came to things food and wine related.
The crown jewel of the season was the Town Square, which was alight with music and activity throughout the 10-day extravaganza. Located at Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga, Town Square was the perfect place for friends and families to soak up the atmosphere at an affordable price.
As Town Square-goers met for a drink or stayed for a meal, one noticeable aspect of the space was the stunning display of greenery. The urban, contemporary landscape was broken up glittering walls of plants, interwoven with fairy lights and accompanied with golden, moving floral chandeliers.
While marquees, roving kitchens and lighting fixtures can be stored away for another year, the rows upon rows of plants will need to find new homes. If you miss Tasting Australia as much as we do, this is your opportunity to take a little bit of the magic home with you.
As a final goodbye, Tasting Australia will be holding an ultimate plant sale that would make any green-thumb squeal with excitement. All plants used to surround the Town Square will be up for grabs, with plants selling for $15.
On offer will be a range of varieties including Banksia Spinulosa, Cordyline Banksii ‘Electric Star’, Dianella Caerulea ‘Goddess’, Hardenbergia violacea ‘Meema’, Viburnum Odoratissimum, Alternanthera Den ‘Little Ruby’, Convolvulus Cneorum, Acmena Smithii ‘Allyn Magic’ and more.
On Saturday 13 May from 10am – 4pm, beeline to Ferryden Park and take a little slice of Tasting Australia home with you.
Swing by to your local homeware store on the way home for some fairy lights, and voilà! Now you can have a mini ode to Tasting Australia on your window sill.
