After wowing Masterchef audiences in 2018, winner Sashi Cheliah is continuing his domination of the Adelaide foodie scene, with the opening of Gaja Express, an on-the-go Pan-Asian inspired breakfast and lunch spot that’s perfect for midday cravings.

The little sister to Pirie Street favourite Gaja by Sashi, Gaja Express is an intimate venue serving an all new menu of light and nutritious dishes, poised for the bustle of the lunchtime takeaway trade.
Owner Sashi has been delighted with the response since opening the doors of Gaja Express at the end of April.
“We’ve had such a positive response since opening and particularly after COVID we are seeing customers increasingly looking for quick takeaway options that are still nutritious and healthy” he says.
With the threat of colder weather making itself known this week Gaja Express couldn’t have opened at a better time, offering warming comfort food from sweetly spiced curries and roti bread wraps with authentic Indian and Asian-inspired fillings, as well as a plethora of pastries and cakes to satisfy your sweet tooth such as Vietnamese coffee cupcakes.
Providing a much-needed healthy, and affordable range of fast lunches with menu highlights including convenient Grab N Go bowls, customers can construct their own layered lunch, choosing from a range of mouth-watering grains, curries, salads and sauce flavours such as chickpea masala, tamarind and date chutney and cumin yogurt dressing.
Try out your new lunchtime fix at Unit 6/11 Waymouth Street from 7:30 – 2:30 daily.
