Taste some of the freshest local produce prepared by some of South Australia’s hottest chefs, including reigning Masterchef Australia winner Sashi, at a one-off dinner during Tasting Australia.
Surrounded by vintage farm equipment in the atmospheric setting of The Showground’s Old Ram Shed in Wayville, the ‘Straight from the Farm – Glamour in the Barn’ long table dinner is on Saturday April 13.
The evening will start with welcome drinks, then sit down for a five course dinner, with each course matched with a local wine.
For the evening, five South Australian chefs have created a special dish featuring seasonal produce from right there at the market.
Kane Pollard (Topiary) is an award-winning young Adelaide chef who specialises in the centuries old techniques of culturing, churning, curing and smoking and is commitment to using local, seasonal produce.
SA’s own Poh Ling Yeow (JamFace), the star of Masterchef Australia’s first season, will cook a steamed savoury custard with shiitake and konyaku in her acclaimed fusion style. Poh cooks her acclaimed paella every week at the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market.
The main courses feature confit pork cheek and slow cooked goat by Farmers’ Market chefs Andrew Kuhl and Dave Matthews.
And then to finish the evening, winner of Masterchef 2018 Sashi Cheliah is creating a goat’s cheese mousse with quince ice cream for dessert.
Straight from the Farm – Glamour in the Barn is on April 13, 6.30-10.30pm at The Ram Shed, Adelaide Showgrounds, Wayville. Tickets are $140 plus bookings fee, which includes five courses plus wine pairings – click here to buy now.
