The match schedule for the 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Adelaide has been announced, with teams from 40 countries.

The match schedule for the 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, held in Adelaide this November, has officially been released. During the ten-day tournament, 96 teams – 48 men’s and 48 women’s pairs – representing 40 countries, will compete for the prestigious title of world champions. Excitingly, the contest will feature a record number of nine Australian teams, alongside Olympic champions and reigning world champions.

Natalie Cook OLY, an Olympic gold medalist and the ambassador for the event, shared, “Adelaide is ready to shine on the global stage,” she said. “From the first serve to championship point, fans will experience world-class competition in a uniquely Australian setting.

“The Green and Gold Super Sessions will be an atmosphere like no other, a sea of Aussie pride cheering on our homegrown heroes. Having experienced this 25 years ago, winning gold on Bondi Beach in front of a home crowd, I know first-hand how much this support means to our Aussies.”

The ‘Green & Gold’ super session will kick off the event, promising an electric atmosphere as multiple Australian teams take to the center court on the opening night. This includes matches such as Clancy/Milutinovic (AUS) versus J. Zh. Wang/X. Y. Xia (CHN) and other high-profile contests featuring recent Olympic medalists from the Paris Games.

This thrilling opener spells just the beginning of what promises to be an eventful opening weekend packed with compelling matchups. Among the stars are Olympic champion pairs and the reigning World Champions such as Cheng (USA) and Perusic/Schweiner (CZE).

Australian players Izac Carracher and Mark Nicolaidis, who are both Paris Olympians, are relishing the opportunity to compete on home soil. Izac said, “We’re super excited to be welcoming the world to our hometown in Adelaide in one month’s time.”

Mark added, “With the match schedule unveiled today, we now know our path to the World Championships trophy but that doesn’t change our approach. We’re taking it day by day, game by game and can’t wait to play in front of a home crowd.

“We’ve just returned from LA and Brazil, and their fans were so loud– we hope that our Aussie fans will turn out in droves and show the world how passionate they are.”

FIVB President Fabio Azevedo shared, “With the release of the match schedule, the journey to the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships is now well underway. Hosting the event in Australia for the first time is a landmark moment for our sport – bringing beach volleyball’s premier event to new audiences, inspiring new fans, and making our sport more accessible than ever. We have every confidence that our partners in Australia will deliver an unforgettable experience for both players and fans.”
