Australian Idol alumni Matt Corby has today announced a full national tour for February 2012. The ‘Into The Flame’ tour will visit all capital cities across the country with tickets on sale from 9am Thursday, December 8.
The tour includes shows at The Corner in Melbourne and Oxford Art Factory in Sydney and follows on from 5 x sold out EP launch shows in Sydney & Melbourne.
Matt will also spend January and February continuing to pop up in fans gardens around the country to play intimate acoustic sets. The ‘Secret Garden’ fan shows are tricky to track down and secure a ticket to; but those who manage to make it will not regret it. Matt has played over 40 shows to 4000+ fans in back gardens this year alone.
Corby’s current single ‘Brother’ is one of the most played on alternative radio nationally, whilst the ‘Into The Flame’ EP this week broke into the iTunes Top 10 album chart.
Sydney's Drum Media heralded Corby's performances, saying he “already has something that sets him apart. His voice was genuinely show-stopping. Blessed with a similar sounding voice to the late Jeff Buckley, Corby was able to silence a very rowdy and excitable crowd whenever a song called for a more contemplative mood, but likewise he was able to whip the crowd with a whoop and a holler when his band unleashed their foot-stomping bursts of energy.”
Matt Corby will play Jive Bar, Adelaide on Saturday, February 25 2012. Tickets available through www.moshtix.com.au
Corby will also support Canadian folk-singer Feist on February 9 2012 at Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide.
