As it currently stands, the Cudlee Creek bush fire has burnt over 23,000 hectares of land and taken many homes and businesses along with it. Although it is currently contained, with the CFS working tirelessly to extinguish the blazes, it has still heavily impacted the businesses in the affected areas’ abilities to trade.

The MLHFC has contacted wineries and food traders in the affected areas and offered their Function Centre as a safe and convenient venue to host a marketplace where these vendors can sample and sell their unaffected stock.

The market will take place on Thursday, 16th January 2020 from 4:30pm-7:30pm upstairs in the Function Centre. The event has no entry fee and $1 from every main meal purchased in the Bistro on the day will also be donated to the SA Bushfire Appeal.

A handful of vendors have already confirmed their participation in the event and it is expected that more will confirm within the coming days. Golding Wines, Vinteloper, New Era Vineyards, Riposte Wines, Petaluma and Nova Vita Wines are all currently confirmed stallholders for this event.

MLHFC will update social media when and if new businesses commit to the cause. The MLHFC wishes to thank the SA Country fire Service for their continued efforts in fighting this fire, and they look forward to being able to pay it forward to the vendors this disaster has affected.
