SA Health issues COVID-19 alert for several SA schools

The Parafield COVID-19 Cluster has now impacted five schools, with advice from SA Health to quarantine, and for some, to seek testing.

SA Health has issued an updated alert for several schools impacted by the COVID-19 Parafield Cluster.

Advice from SA Health regarding quarantine and testing requirements is as below:

QUARANTINE (INCLUDING PEOPLE WHO LIVE WITH YOU) AND SEEK TESTING

Anyone who has visited the below locations and people who live with them must self-quarantine immediately for 14 days and seek testing.

SA Health is contacting everyone who was in these locations who may have been in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case.

• Thomas More College, Salisbury Downs – 12 or 13 November

• Roma Mitchell Secondary College, Gepps Cross – 12 or 13 November

QUARANTINE AND SEEK TESTING

Anyone who has visited the below location on the listed dates/times must self-quarantine immediately for 14 days and seek testing. If your house is appropriately set up so you do not have contact with other people, others who live with you are not required to self-quarantine (unless requested by SA Health or SA Police).

SA Health is contacting everyone who was in this location who may have been in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case.

• Mawson Lakes School and Preschool – 11, 12 or 13 November

QUARANTINE

Anyone who has attended the below locations on the listed dates/times must self-quarantine immediately for 14 days. You only need to seek testing if you develop symptoms.

• Holy Family Catholic School, Parafield Gardens – 13 November

• Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre, Parafield Gardens – 13 November

SA Health has also advised Flinders University that a person who yesterday tested positive to COVID-19 attended the IELI Intensive English Language Institute on Sturt Campus in recent days.

At this stage, no Flinders staff or student has been identified as having close contact and there are no confirmed cases amongst Flinders University staff or students.

There is no indication the person visited any Flinders University sites beyond the Sturt Campus, which they’ve taken the precaution of closing for deep cleaning. Effective immediately, all buildings on the Sturt Campus are closed which includes IELI itself as well as Health2Go, FISC, Sturt Library and the Sturt Cafe.
