If you haven’t heard of Mazi Mas before, be prepared to be blown away. This brilliant concept is based around a roaming restaurant that brings exciting, authentic, global home cooking to the public, and creates employment for aspiring women food entrepreneurs from migrant and refugee communities.
The latest event from this group of talented women is an evening of Persian delights, fabulous company and fine wine.
Mama Jumbo has provided Mazi Mas with the perfect space for their Persian Inspired Pop Up Dinner, where guests will enjoy a $65, three course meal. Guests will also be able to purchase a variety of South Australian wines and drinks on the night. Please note however, there’s no eftpos facilities so bring cash to purchase drinks.
The evening is just one of the many events that the not-for-profit social enterprise co-ordinates, which then facilitate four main aims.
– to provide women with an independent income;
– develop women’s existing culinary skills in a professional setting, in order to give them the confidence, support, and practical experience necessary to start their own food businesses or gain employment in others;
– to reduce social isolation and foster community through collective enterprise; and
– to preserve and celebrate women’s recipes and diverse cultural heritages.
So grab some friends, and organise a great night out, which is also helping a talented group of women succeed in Adelaide.
