Beauty lovers, this one’s for you! Something extra special is coming to Burnside Village this week, as South Australia’s very stunning, first-ever, two-storey MECCA store is getting ready to open its doors.
The new flagship store spans an impressive 950 square metres, which is more than triple the combined size of Burnside’s previous MECCA Maxima and MECCA Cosmetica locations. It’s also officially the second-largest MECCA in Australia and New Zealand, just behind the iconic George Street store in Sydney.

Designed by interior firm Studio McWalter, the new store will be an immersive beauty experience across two levels. With semi-private skin treatment beds, a dedicated Perfumeria, and hands-on discovery zones like the Carousel Playbar and Beauty Lab, this isn’t your average cosmetics counter.
Gregg Downer, CEO of the Cohen Group, says, “We are thrilled to welcome South Australia’s first two-storey MECCA store at Burnside Village. This remarkable store brings an unparalleled selection of the world’s leading beauty brands to Burnside Village customers, while offering an immersive and inspiring retail experience.”

Shoppers can get ready to explore an exciting line-up of global brands, including Tower 28, Smashbox, Stila, YSL, Kerastase, Jo Malone, Le Labo, and Sam McKnight. Exclusive to the new Burnside store are cult favourites Element Eight and Reome, making their South Australian debut.
To celebrate the launch, MECCA is rolling out a handful of grand opening offers. The first 100 through the doors on opening day will receive a complimentary full-sized product with any purchase. Plus, Burnside Beauty Bags will be gifted to customers who spend $85 or more across the opening weekend, featuring a limited-edition MECCA tote designed just for Burnside. For the first time ever, all Beauty Loop members, no matter their level, will score an exclusive Burnside-only Beauty Loop Box with any purchase.

MECCA is one of Australia’s leading prestige beauty retailers and is known for revolutionising the local beauty scene since its first store in 1997. Today, the brand operates over 110 stores across Australia and New Zealand and serves more than four million customers annually.
Burnside Village is in the midst of a landmark development that’s marking the beginning of a new chapter in Adelaide’s retail scene. With a range of new stores gearing up to open, the addition of this revitalised MECCA store is definitely one that’s welcome.
