Peel Street is buzzing with hidden gems, and the introduction of Tempus Mezze Bar last year has been no exception.
From the husband and wife team that brought Byron Bay the highly acclaimed fatbellykat, which over their 10 year stint regularly featured in the Sydney Morning Herald – Good Food Guide, Delicious Magazine, Vogue Entertaining & Gourmet Traveller, have now brought the mediterranean cocktail bar to Peel Street Adelaide.
Katerina and Damian Williams are following the same successful model as their Byron Shire restaurant, which offered modern Mediterranean plates to be shared.
Service focused – as if you are eating in their own home – expect to enjoy dishes such as hand-made hemp seed flatbreads & dips, eggplant & fetta balls with parsley mayo, semolina dusted SA calamari with raspberry mayo, ouzo cured salmon with tomato marmalade, slow cooked lamb shoulder & mint tzatziki, plant based vegan moussaka and maybe finish with kataifi crema if you can fit it in.
Tempus offers a small wine list which speaks elegance, simplicity and ease. All wines are offered by the glass, can be ordered at a glance and are selected with purpose, to complement Kat’s food.
Tempus’ Peel Street location still dictates that a large part of the venue’s DNA is cocktail based, and the Tempus bar team has curated an approachable cocktail list which offers “funky signatures” and approachable classics.
Tempus is Latin for time and their ethos are to be service focused, allowing their guests over the time they spend with the bar, an opportunity to experience consummate hospitality coupled with food and beverage that is of a consistently high standard.
For the first time ever, Tempus Mezze Bar will be opening their doors for lunch service starting this Friday giving perfect excuse to kick off your weekend in style.
