From the iconic “Malls Balls” to the Rundle Mall pigeon, the city has once again intrigued its residents with another addition to its urban landscape.
Nestled in the heart of the bustling shopping hub of Rundle Mall and the cultural epicentre of Adelaide Railway Station, these captivating 3x3x3 meter structures have quickly become the talk of the town, adding an air of mystique to the already vibrant atmosphere, just in time for the highly anticipated Illuminate Adelaide festival.

Spoiler alert* – we now know what they are! The light-boxes are there to commemorate the opening of Flinders University’s new Festival Plaza campus in January 2024.
The University will be hosting 1:1 meet and greet opportunities inside these captivating boxes over the next two weeks. These speakers will generously share invaluable advice and insights to help South Aussies find their fearless, offering a wealth of wisdom and guidance for aspiring students and fellow South Australians embarking on their professional paths. Best of all, this remarkable opportunity comes completely free of charge.
Professional football player Josh Cavallo, Australian of the Year Taryn Brumfitt, a passionate cook and contestant on MasterChef Mandy Hall, and past Socceroos player Bruce Djite are among some of the Fearless Speakers who will be present (full list below).
