See, touch and cuddle hundreds of animals, talk to breeders and animal experts, get pet products and special expo prices all at this fun event happening this weekend.
That’s right, the Adelaide Animal Expo is making a comeback this weekend, bringing a family-friendly day to the Adelaide Showgrounds after the event was cancelled last June.
There is so much to do at this weekend’s event, from holding a slithery snake as it moves across your shoulders at the large Snake & Reptile display, to walking through the large Animal Nursery and petting a pony or two, and so much more.
Why not sit down in a puppy enclosure and indulge in fluffy heaven, or walk around with a colourful bird on your shoulder? This expo will highlight some of the cutest and most interesting animals, from household pets to barn animals, all on show in one place.
There is set to be something to do for everyone as a range of activities have been organised for this event including a walk-through of the large Animal Nursery, specialised talks with breeders at the Dog Breed Area and access to two large Cat Breed Displays for an educational take on this event.
The Lower Murray Bird Club Inc will be exhibitors at the Adelaide Animal Expo with an interactive ‘Bird Display’ by club members where a variety of birds will be on display. Including Cockatiels, Kakarikis, Green Cheek and Pineapple Conjures, Quakers, Princess and Bourke parrots, budgies and finches.
The Australian Miniature Pony Society and Miniature Horse Association of Australia will be displaying a range of Miniature Horses & Miniature Ponies during the expo. On Saturday, some adorable miniature ponies will be completing an obstacle course, including jumping. This day will also see a long-reigning performance by the Australian Miniature Pony Society and Miniature Horse Association.
The Adelaide Bird and Exotic Vet Centre homes sick and injured birds, reptiles and small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and rodents. There will be a stall at the expo where people can stop by and learn about feeding your pet for good health to prevent disease.
The stall will be host to locally made animal food company, Wombaroo-Passwell, whose food products cater for many species from alpacas to turtles, birds to possums and will be available to purchase.
Experience all kinds of creepy crawlies as you traverse the Snake & Reptile Pit, watch out for the snakes, we’ve been told the handlers have been known to place these slimy friends on willing eventgoers for an experience of a lifetime.
The experienced handlers at every station will be there to not only bring you exclusive access to loads of cute animals but to also teach you the safe ways to handle and care for these animals.
Are you a new pet owner and are still unsure how to properly care for your furry friends? Get free pet advice from leading animal experts at this event so you can learn how to properly care for your friendly feline.
Special offers on a range of products will be available at stalls dotted all around the event space, so while the kids are off feeding the calves, you can secure a great price on everything you need for your pets with the pet products’ special show-only prices.
If the pets aren’t around the keep the little ones distracted, there will be a kid’s activity zone available on the day where they can keep busy while you’re busy trying to convince your parents to get a pet of your own.
There are plenty of activities to carry you through the expo this weekend, don’t miss out on the chance to meet heaps of furry friends and check out some great stalls.
