Nectar Coffee Roasters is the newest female-owned speciality coffee roasters on the block, and they’re here to brew more than just coffee- they’re brewing up change.

Contributing to the fight for true gender equality, Nectar aims to drive social change and support female empowerment in the industry.

Supplying a sustainably sourced and packaged premium air-roasted coffee, Nectar’s owner and operator trio: Georgia Lake, Alia Nazri, and Mia Umeko aim to support intersectional feminism through conscious consumer choices.

“There is a notable imbalance of female-owned coffee roasters and businesses in Australia,” say the trio on their website

“While we, the owners and directors of Nectar, each come from different backgrounds, experiences and journeys, we all are impacted by social injustices and unfair treatment for being a woman,

“Buying Nectar’s coffee is joining that movement productively. We’re not here to just talk about it- we’re here to do the goddamn thing,” they continue.

Nectar also contributes five per cent of its profit margin to its ‘female-focused fund’- a selection of impactful social organisations that are dedicated to supporting women in need.

The generous, passionate, and driven women behind the brew have released five roasts since their opening- a range that is remarkably bold and colourful.

Showcasing creatively-designed South Australian inspired artwork on each of the five products, the unique packaging is explosive in colour.

Featuring Daphne (Decaf), Flora (Espresso pods), Iris (Espresso blend), Rue (Filter Blend) and Sage (Single-origin)- these femininely and thoughtfully labelled products are a reflection of the trio’s vision.

Complementing this eye-catching range is Nectar’s merchandise, which features a similar style of bold and colourful artwork that is seen across their products.

“Same deal. 5% of the profit margin we make on this T-Shirt goes to our female-focused fund. Do good by wearing good. Also, you will look super cool.”

Ranging from just $19 for a 250g bag, up to $78 for a 1kg bag, Nectar’s coffee products are both reasonably priced and affordable for most markets.

With Nectar’s ‘Brew Change Club’, coffee-lovers can subscribe to an automated order every fortnight or month, with exclusive access to special promotions, products and discounts.
