Meet SA’s Farmer Trent

Hit reality dating show the Farmer Wants a Wife is back for a new season and South Australia's very own Farmer Trent is already proving to be a favourite among the ladies.

Living a reasonable 200 km's away from Adelaide in Lameroo, Farmer Trent has been dubbed the best looking farmer of the season and to top it off is a lovely guy.

Like a lot of the farmers, Framer Trent was dobbed in for the show by one of his mates.

"I've always been pretty hesitant about the show, my sisters have been trying to get me to go on it for a couple of years," he says.

"I think now I'm pretty settled in my life and on the farm and I thought it would be a good opportunity to get out there and meet some girls, do something different."

For those who haven't watched Farmer Wants a Wife, eligible bachelors choose three city girls to take out to their farms in the hopes of finding love with one of them.

Most men would agree that having a number of beautiful women competing for you seems like a pretty good deal but Farmer Trent says it's a lot harder than it seems.

"I thought it would be great fun but there were stressful times when you're trying to keep everybody happy and I didn't want to upset anybody."

Living only a few hours from Adelaide means Farmer Trent can head to the city often to catch up with his family.

"Family has always been really important to me."

"I think they are the thing that keep me going in life."

Farmer Trent is a triplet and says that his sisters will definetly have to approve of any girl he brings home.

"But I think if I found the right girl my sisters would understand and be happy for me."

"I hope they would anyway!"

Farmer Trent says that what he was looking for in a partner was pretty simple.

"I guess I was just looking for a girl I could have a bit of fun with and was willing to live out in the country and enjoy what I enjoy."

"I think what I've got out there is pretty special and somebody to share that with would be awesome."

With the sheer number of reality dating shows on television these days, it seems unlikely that these things ever result in true love but Farmer Trent disagrees.

"I think they have a pretty good success rate so far and I think its as good a place as any to try and find love."

So how can city girls snag themselves an eligible farmer like Farmer Trent?

"You've just got to go out there looking."

"There's plenty of us out there but I think a lot of the time you have to come to us."

Farmer Trent's hot tip is to head out to country footy!

"I think around the community in the country a lot of it is based around sport.

"There's always something on in the country."

While Farmer Trent can be seen having a bit of a 'tear up' on the Farmer Wants a Wife ads, he maintains that he has had an overall positive experience.

"I would definitely recommend it to others and I would do it again in a heartbeat."

Farmer Wants a Wife is on Channel 9 at 7:30pm on Wednesdays.
