Meet SA’s latest luxury eco-tourism getaway, Maridallah Retreat

Located in the luscious Inman Valley, the Maridallah Retreat boasts two separate wings, the first featuring the largest window in a residential building in Australia.

Escape to South Australia’s latest luxury eco-tourism retreat located one hour south of Adelaide, in the luscious Inman Valley. Maridallah Retreat sits proudly on 66 acres of your own private conversation park, brimming with natural wildlife. Perched high up on a hill it allows you to enjoy the tranquillity of nature, whilst marvelling at the distant sea views.

Emma Fletcher acquired the property with the intention of offering a space for guests to be able to reconnect with nature, while also getting to experience the richness of Maridaallah’s modern interior design and architecture.

“The entire experience from driving into Inman Valley Conservation Park, to arriving at this piece of paradise and soaking in the sweeping view of the Fleurieu Peninsula is something that I felt compelled to share on a larger scale. The sense of peace that washes over you after the first fives minutes of arriving is something that is healing for all and really is the magic of Maridaallah,” says Emma.

Offering panoramic views from every room in the retreat, Maridaallah breaks off into two separate wings. The first wing offers open plan living that shows off an 8m wide window, the largest in a residential building in Australia.

The second wing offers four bedrooms, main bathroom, grand en-suite and a third toilet room. The main bedroom offers 180-degree views of the property and is where you might spot several kangaroos perched outside at dawn and dusk.

Guests are encouraged to engage with the wilderness on offer here. Take the walking sticks and explore the natural terrain, or if you’re feeling up to it make your way down to the billabong located at the end of the property. Also stocked with picnic blankets and basket, make it romantic and find yourself the perfect spot to enjoy your complimentary bottle of wine.

With sustainability at the forefront of architecture, this off-grid retreat is perhaps the only one of its kind built in South Australia. Maridaallah Retreat is purposefully designed to blend in with the natural surroundings of the Australian outback, making sure to leave as little imprint as possible. The property runs on solar power, runs a filtrated rainwater system and has a worm farm septic system that doubles as a compost bin so waste is minimal.

Maridaallah Retreat is available for bookings all year round and can be done on their website here.
