The Average Grocer offers average products made for and by average people.

It’s a not so average concept brought to you by creative mind Brad Bruni.

“It’s starting off as a collaborative online grocery store,” Brad said.

“I’ve got a staple range of stuff including red hot sauce, chilli oil and spicy honey, and then I’ll be making more limited-edition stuff soon.”

Brad has worked in hospitality in the past dabbling in Cibo Espresso, Gloria Jean’s Coffees, Cracked Kitchen and now Fugazzi Bar & Dining Room in the front of house. Growing up with a craving for cooking, Brad always wanted to be a chef – The Average Grocer was born from this passion.

With the website launching this week, Brad creates small batch condiments and pantry goods in his very own home for other people to enjoy in theirs.

Using local ingredients, Brad cooks up goods to make your dishes even better. There’s “pretty good” garlic oil, “put it on everything” chilli oil and hot sauce to make your food “hot and spicy”. You can buy these individually or in bundles to try them all.

There’s also “heaps tasty” miso caramel described as “buttery creamy salty funky stuff”,  and hot honey to “drizzle on pizza or toast or avocado or vanilla ice-cream”.

“I just wanted a place that I can create my own stuff,” Brad said.

“I’m going do merch and there’s grocery bags coming too.

“I’ve always wanted a platform to be creative.”

With experience in marketing and coms, Brad created the super aesthetic website himself for customers to shop his delicious range of goods.

Brad said he will be collaborating with his foodie friends in the future and expanding his range of products. He hopes to have his products on offer at local retailers soon too.
